Podcasting Helps Spread the Chosen Word Automatically

By Kerenza Faram Originally begun as a way for people to broadcast their own radio programs Podcasting
is a new experience for many, and has recently garnered the attention of advertisers
looking for an economical way of marketing their products to a targeted audience. Since the first podcast in 2001, numerous channels have opened to allow anyone to get
their virtual message out to the public. Many websites are using Podcasting to improve
the quality of the messages about their products going to the public or to a specific
audience. Anyone with a computer, the right software and hardware and a little instruction can
produce their own podcast and get it channeled to prospective customers. For those
attempting to sell something they could essentially create their own infomercial and
make it available on their website for interested visitors to view information in an
audio and video with audio format. By using RSS feeds, you can offer syndication of your message, making it available on
a multitude of channels for prospective viewers to access at their convenience, kind
of like a commercial on demand. With so many sites offering Real Simple Syndication your
message, your message could be available from sites allowing targeted marketing instead
of the shotgun approach so familiar to web marketing. From a marketing point of view, Podcasting could be the next best thing since pockets on
jeans. You can contract with a site that defines what a widget is, and when someone visits
that site trying to learn about widgets, a 30-second commercial about your company and the
advantages of your widgets plays either and audio or video podcast. This gets your
commercial directly distributed to a viewer with a specific interest in your product. Since the programming language used to distribute podcasts, Extensible Markup Language
(XML) is readable across a wide range of languages; it assures the message will be
understandable, regardless of the format of the equipment receiving the message. Podcasting Helps Spread The Chosen Word Automatically

Personal Pluses That Ace A Job Interview

By Joel Vance As the business world has become more competitive for the shrinking markets available to them, companies have shifted their focus from hiring the most educated or experienced graduate, to hiring those employees with personal pluses as well as the job skills. Right now, you may be in an entry-level job, gaining experience and hoping to work your way up. This is also the time (if you havent learned them while growing up), to develop your people skills as well. Because these tend to be the soft sell features that make candidates stand out at an interview. Promptness is one attribute that employers appreciate. It doesnt come naturally, but it doesnt take a great deal of work to acquire either. A little planning, or putting thought into your daily routines and habits, mean you are not only on time for work, but for outside activities as well. Personality also goes a long way, when an employer is considering equally qualified candidates. Do you enjoy your work? Have you had good experiences with previous employers? If not, dont make those incidents a focus during your interview. Instead, highlight the positive aspects of past jobs, and how they have helped to make you suited for the position related to the interview. And dont ooze friendliness. Leave that to your puppy at home. Interviewers can spot a phony as soon as they show their orthodontists handiwork. Be your natural, sincere self. Your real personality will show through, and sometimes will count for more than the degree on your graduation certificate. People skills are now being considered one of the most valuable assets that any employee can have, no matter what their role. Its not just the customer service part of the job that counts, but how well you function as part of a team, and part of what may be a small, and highly motivated company where there can be periods of intense and concentrated work that tests both your professional skills and your temper. Having an even keel, and knowing how to deal with those who dont, is a talent that will follow you from job to job, in written recommendations, and in how you present yourself at an interview. With the number of people seeking work, either as new graduates or recently laid off employees, you need to put not only your best foot forward, but your best self. A company can go to any institute and hire a person trained to a particular skill. What they are really looking for when they grant interviews, is someone with the technical skills and personality pluses. How to Interview a Wedding Photographer

By Amy Spade The photographer is going to be your employee in many ways, so you will need to be absolutely sure that this is a person that you can trust with your wedding pictures. Treat him or her like a job applicant and see how you interact with each other. Making a list You can find a list of wedding photographers in your local phone book, but its much easier to get onto a wedding website and see who local people recommend. This list is much shorter and can lead you to higher quality people without having to call everyone from A to Z. Once you have a list of photographers, start to call them to set up appointments. Try not to schedule them too close to each other so that you can spend as much time as you need with each one. If youre rushed, you may forget to ask particular questions and you may also forget which photographer said what. Make a list of questions that you want to ask. You can ask about pricing, hourly fees, added costs, location costs, various developing techniques, and more. Try to think of every question that you and your soon-to-be spouse can, even if you think they sound silly. No question is too silly, and if the photographer has been around long enough, then they will have heard them all. Your interview style One of the things that works best in talking with photographers is to try to make sure that you are leading the conversation. You want to make sure that you are getting your opinion into the talks, rather than being told what other couples are doing and saying about them and how much their fees are. If you feel like youre being sold a product, rather than an opportunity to have some great pictures, then you can cut the appointment off and leave. You have no obligation to choose anyone until youre completely satisfied with your choice. Look at the samples carefully and make sure that youre looking at ones that are recent. Sometimes photographers will try to show you older photos, but if thats not your style, then its really not applicable. Study the quality of the pictures and look for poses that you like. Your pictures will serve as a reminder of the happiness and joy of your wedding day. You need to find someone who will create masterpieces of your photos. Take your time in finding someone, but do it earlyif you live in a smaller town, these professionals can book up early. Improve Your Mind With Some Simple Math Games

By Murdo Macleod Mathematics has long been recognized for it's mental benefits. Working with numbers improves your concentration, memory, focus, problem solving skills, and general clarity of thought. To enjoy these benefits, you don't have to indulge in any complicated formulas. All you need is a few minutes daily practice playing some simple math games. And before you rush out to buy the latest Xbox console and software, realize that numbers are all around you... Look at the clock on your computer. Usually it's located in the lower right-hand corner of your screen (or use any clock to tell the time). The 24-hour format works best. On my computer right now, the time is 15:38. There are all kinds of creative games you can play with this. Here are ten to get you started: #1 Add the single digits together from left to right: 1 + 5 + 3 + 8 = (say "6... 9... 17") #2 Add the single digits together from right to left: 8 + 3 + 5 + 1 = (say "11... 16.. 17") #3 Add the inner and outer digits together, then add the resulting pairs together: 1 + 8 = 9 5 + 3 = 8 and so 9 + 8 = 17 #4 Add the single digits on either side of the colon, and multiply the results: 1 + 5 = 6 and 3 + 8 = 11 6 x 11 = 66 #5 Subtract the single digits on either side of the colon, and multiply the results: 1 from 5 = 4 3 from 8 = 5 4 x 5 = 20 #6 Multiply the single digits on either side of the colon, and multiply the results: 1 x 5 = 5 and 3 x 8 = 24 5 x 24 = 120 #7 Add the two-digit numbers either side of the colon: Add 15 to 38 to get 53 #8 Subtract the two-digit numbers either side of the colon: Subtract 15 from 38 to get 23 #9 Divide the two-digit numbers either side of the colon: Divide 15 into 38 to get 2 remainder 8 #10 Feeling brave? Multiply the two-digit numbers either side of the colon: Multiply 15 by 38 to get... 570 You can repeat the above exercises as many times a day as you like. Try them anytime you have a spare minute, like when you're placed on hold in a telephone queue. You may not turn into a mathematical genius, but you'll certainly keep your brain in gear! 9 Essential Tips On How To Build Your Own Green House

By Christian Baligad Have you ever thought about the pleasure you would get from building your own greenhouse? There are numerous sizes and designs for you to choose from. By building your own greenhouse you will receive the satisfaction of tending to your own vegetables, plants, flowers, or whatever you decide to grow. A greenhouse will also provide your plants the sunlight and humidity that they need. Every time you visit your greenhouse you will have a sense of pride knowing that when each crop comes to fruition your efforts are rewarded. By building your own small greenhouse you will save more money. Depending on your budget there are many materials and supplies at your disposal to build your dream garden. If you have the space, a larger greenhouse may be in your best interest because you can maximize the space that you have to grow more plants and vegetables. There are many factors to consider when building a greenhouse to utilize the area you have to propagate more plants. Here are some tips and factors for you to consider when building your own greenhouse: 1. If you intend to build a large greenhouse look around and use salvaged materials to stay within your budget. To help minimize your expenses use these supplies and materials in planning and designing a low cost greenhouse. This in turn lessens your expenses for other supplies and materials you may also need. 2. You must also determine the climate in the place where you live. Your greenhouse should be appropriate for cold climate areas. This will help provide the heat and warmth needed for your plants. For warmer climates, you will need sufficient shade for your plants. 3. You also need to be sure that in designing your greenhouse that you have the proper air circulation pest control soil, ventilation, heaters for colder climates and humidity control devices. You need to create an environment that is appropriate for the types of plants you intend to grow. 4. You also need to consider the location of your greenhouse so that there is sufficient sunlight. You might consider a solar greenhouse if the area you locate it in is on the east-west part where it will be exposed to more sunlight. 5. It is vital to consider the covering for your greenhouse. Glass and fiberglass work best. Compared with plastic covers, they are more durable and do not deteriorate as quick. In essence, a greenhouse with a glass or fiberglass covering will provide mopre humidity and warmth. 6. For a more secure greenhouse, ensure that your foundation is made of concrete. For a more cost effective option, use something like railroad ties which are more easily attached to the ground. It all depends on what your budget is and how much you are willing to spend. 7. To maximize the full potential of your greenhouse, you may add benches and materials that will make it more comfortable for you when you want to relax inside of it while working in there. To make it even more comfortable for you, add devices like automatic watering systems, ventilation systems, heating systems and other automatic accessoreies that are effective in maintaining the plants. 8. To keep control of the "bad bugs" in the greenhouse, use "good bugs" to prevent and control the spread of theses pesky little creatures. Visit your local nursery or gardening supply store and check with them to determine which "good bugs" you need to prevent infestation. In the unforeseen case that you find out a plant has been infected, isolate it or even place it outside the greenhouse to prevent it from infecting the other plants. 9. When designing your greenhouse be sure to leave space to store such items as poting soil, fertilizers and other tools that are essential inside the greenhouse. To make it easier to transpant plants from one pot to another, put a tool rack near your potting area. Utilize buckets and tool holders to store other equipment when they are not in use. By maximizing your area you can develop and grow all types of plants and vegetable in your greenhouse. For an even more enjoyable eperience, get your family and friends involved too. Gastric Bypass Surgery - Get It In India

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Dheeraj_Bojwani] Dheeraj Bojwani What is Gastric Bypass Surgery? Gastric bypass surgery makes the stomach smaller and allows food to bypass part of the small intestine.A Person will feel full more quickly than when stomach was its original size. This procedure reduces the amount of food a person eats and thus the calories consumed. Bypassing part of the intestine also results in fewer calories being absorbed. This leads to weight- loss. For whom is Gastric Bypass Surgery? Generally, gastric bypass surgery is reserved for people, who are unable to achieve or maintain a healthy weight through diet and exercise, are severely overweight, and who have health problems as a result. Gastric bypass may be considered if: If a persons body mass index (BMI) is 40 or higher (extreme obesity). If a persons BMI is 35 to 39.9 (obesity), and he/she has a serious weight-related health problems such as diabetes or high blood pressure. Gastric bypass surgery doesn't replace the need for following a healthy diet and regular physical activity program. In fact, the success of the surgery depends in part on patients commitment to following the guidelines given to him/her about diet and exercise. As a patient considers weight-loss surgery, he/she should be mentally prepared to make the life-style changes such has proper dietary habits, proper exercise regime What Are The Types Of Gastric Bypass Surgeries? Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RGB): This operation is the most common gastric bypass procedure performed. First, a small stomach pouch is created by stapling part of the stomach together or by vertical banding. This limits how much food a patient can eat. Next, a Y-shaped section of the small intestine is attached to the pouch to allow food to bypass the duodenum as well as the first portion of the jejunum. This causes reduced calorie and nutrient absorption. This procedure can now be done with a laparoscope (a thin telescope-like instrument for viewing inside the abdomen) in some people. This involves using small incisions and generally has a more rapid recovery time. Extensive gastric bypass (biliopancreatic diversion: In this more complicated gastric bypass operation, the lower portion of the stomach is removed. The small pouch that remains is connected directly to the final segment of the small intestine, thus completely bypassing both the duodenum and jejunum. Although this procedure successfully promotes weight loss, it is not as widely used because of the high risk of nutritional deficiencies. Gastric bypass operations that cause malabsorption and restrict food intake produce more weight loss than restriction operations, which only decrease food intake. People who have bypass operations generally lose two-thirds of their excess weight within 2 years. Proceduer of Gastric Bypass Surgery: In gastric bypass, the surgeon creates a small pouch at the top of the stomach and adds a bypass around a segment of small intestine. The surgeon staples the stomach across the top, sealing it off from the rest of the stomach. The resulting pouch is about the size of a walnut and can hold about an ounce of food. The pouch is physically separated from the rest of the stomach. Then, the surgeon cuts the small intestine and sews part of it directly onto the pouch. This redirects food, bypassing most of the stomach and the first section of small intestine, the duodenum (doo-o-DEE-num). Food enters directly into the second section of small intestine, the jejunum (jay-JOO-num), limiting the patients ability to absorb calories. Even though food never enters the lower part of the stomach, the stomach stays healthy and continues to secrete digestive juices to mix with food in small intestine. Some surgeons perform this operation by using a laparoscope a small, tubular instrument with a camera attached through short incisions in the abdomen (laparoscopic gastric bypass). The tiny camera on the tip of the scope allows the surgeon to see inside the abdomen. What can a patient expect after gastric bypass surgery? Patient won't be allowed to eat for one to two days after the surgery so that the stomach can heal. Then the patient has to follow a specific dietary progression for about 12 weeks. This begins with liquids only, proceeds to pureed and soft foods, and finally to regular foods. With stomach pouch reduced to the size of a walnut, patient will need to eat very small meals throughout the day. In the first six months after surgery, eating too much or too fast may cause vomiting or an intense pain under breastbone. The amount patient can eat gradually increases, but patient won't ever be able to return to old eating habits. Within the first two years of surgery the patient can expect to lose 50 percent to 60 percent of patients excess weight. If the patient closely follows dietary and exercise recommendations, he/she can keep most of that weight off long-term. Benefits of Gastric Bypass Surgery: In addition to dramatic weight loss, gastric bypass surgery may improve or resolve the following conditions associated with obesity: Loss of high blood pressure: 70% of patients are able to go off all blood pressure medications post-op. Loss of high blood cholesterol: 80% of patients develop normal cholesterol levels within 2-3 months after surgery. Type 2 diabetes Obstructive sleep apnea Reduced risk of heart disease Increased probability of reducing all need for medication in a diagnosed Type II Diabetes patient. Reversal of borderline diabetes Reduced asthma attacks, and in some cases a total discontinuation. Reduced Respiratory Insufficiency: Many patients find that within just months of the surgery they have almost no respiratory problems at all and can participate in normal activities they have missed out on for years. Relief of Sleep Apnea Syndrome Relief from Acid Reflux Disease The improvements observed in type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and high blood cholesterol may significantly decrease the risk of cardiovascular events in individuals who have undergone gastric bypass surgery compared with those treated through other means. Gastric bypass surgery has also shown to improve mobility and quality of life for people who are severely overweight. Why go to India for Gastric Bypass Surgery? Gastric bypass surgery in India has seen a phenomenal growth during recent past. Most patients from countries like USA and UK travel to India for treatment. Few main reasons: India offers wide range of cheapest pricing options of treatment. While planning a treatment in India, one does not require waiting in patient queues or registering for a waiting list. The Two Main Current Issues that Christianity is Facing

By Yochention Saritoh In the last couple years, the trend of the best seller books has change rapidly. Many of them are Christianity related books. The books are from the well known Purpose Driven Live by Rick Warren to the fiction book The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown. This trend is the affect on the change of the worlds ideology in the last five years. The problem to Christianity rise when many Christians cant distinguish between facts and fictions in books like the DaVinci Code or other similar fiction books. Even worse, the number of misleading Christian is not lesser than the non Christian. A lot of time when a non-Christian ask religious question to Christians, they simply give them vague answers. This shows that Christian people do not know better about Christian theology comparing to non-Christian people. Nowadays, you can find it easily the fiction books that are trying to change the truth of Christianity believe in your neighborhood bookstore, because the books have been the best seller books. With such strong influences, some questions are rise among us. The questions are why such mistaken believe can be builted gradually or even exists among Christian? Shouldnt be the Christian more critical with those trend or fiction books? Shouldnt Christian be the defender of their beliefs? Clearly, there are serious issues with Christianity today. In this article, you will find that there are two main current issues that Christianity is facing. Inward problem within Christianity First issue is inward problem within Christianity. The inward problem can be divided into two major concerns, which are the lack of biblical knowledge, and lack of fellowship. Most of Christians are lack of biblical knowledge. According to Barna Group Survey only 47 percent of Christian in the US read the Scripture during a typical week. Bible is Gods Word, and the foundation of Christian belief. Thus, many Christian doesnt know their fundamental believe anymore. If we, as Christian, dont even read the Scripture anymore, how can we distinguish the biblical truth? In 2 Timothy 3:16, it is clearly stated that All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. As Christians we always have to strengthen our fellowship with God and among believers. Also according to the survey, church attendance is only 47 percent in 2006 and Sunday school attendance is only 24 percent at the same year. Church and Sunday school are where Christian can gather and build fellowship with God and within Christian community. In 1 John 1:5-7 the Scripture says that This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we have a low percentage of church and Sunday school attendance, clearly that Christians are in fact walks in the darkness. In Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12, it is also clearly states the importance of the fellowship with believers. By fellowship with believers, we can support each other up, so if one falls, the other can help him or her up. This way, we would not be vulnerable against the wrong teaching. Outward problem of Christianity Second issue is outward problem of Christianity. Less and less Christian interested to be a witness to others about the truth of gospel. Christians forget to become salt and light, as Jesus commanded. In Matthew 28:19, Jesus has clearly command us to Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. To be honest, how many person that we have share about the gospel in last month alone? We probably have not done it at all. Many people think that religion is very private things, and they dont even bother to preach the truth to unbelievers. These are because individualism and new age movement have poisoned Christian mind from being evangelism. In fact, we have to change that and prevent those wrong teaching from poisoning our mind and back to the basic teaching of the bible. Look at the two main current issues facing Christianity, clearly that we as Christians have to pray to solve these inward and outward issues. By resolving these issues, hopefully we can build a stronger faith of Christianity and our community. In addition, we also can be the light and salt to the non Christian people, so we can straighten the mistaken view of our Lord, Jesus Christ, to non Christian people who are influenced from the fiction book or other mistaken resources. The Health Care Landscape

By Ysolt Usigan Unlike some dying industries, the health care field is here to stay. For that reason alone, many professionals-to-be are looking into a health care school in order to jump on the lucrative bandwagon. Beyond becoming a doctor, the demand is strong for health care workers across the board. From nursing to administration and everything else in between, a health care program can get you started on a reliable career in health care. Health Care School Demands
Victoria Clinton, coordinator of the medical assisting department for the San Mateo County Community College district, says many schools have had to accommodate for the increasing need of nurses. "The outlook for employment in the medical field remains excellent. In 2004 the department and faculty moved from the College of San Mateo to a brand new facility at Canada College," she explains. "The Medical Assisting Department in the San Mateo County Community College district has been serving the medical community since 1964." And a brand new facility for the health care program was built on the campus of Canada College in 2004 to meet student demand. Moreover, Victoria O'Donnell, dean of science and technology at Canada College in Redwood City, CA says their school offers a bachelor's degree in nursing in partnership with San Francisco State University in addition to medical assisting, radiologic technology, and health science. "Our core science programs have been impacted by student demand to enter medical fields," she says. "We've had to add biology, chemistry and organic chemistry courses in the last year." About the Nursing Biz
There are many opportunities in nursing. You can be a registered nurse, charge nurse, or even a lactation specialist. If you were to become a head nurse, for instance, your job would entail planning and implementing the overall nursing policies, procedures, and services for a hospital's unit. You'd have to maintain the nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Ensuring that nurses are current in competency, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training is also a big part of the role. In order to be a head nurse, you must be a registered nurse with at least five years of clinical experience in a related field. Although it sounds like a lot of work, it pays off. The median expected salary for a typical head nurse in the United States is $79,590. There's More to a Health Care Degree than Nursing
O'Donnell points out another placement some aspiring health care enthusiasts neglect to consider. "We have many students wanting to enter the health care field and most of them are interested in nursing programs. Because of how greatly impacted nursing programs have become, I am encouraging these students to explore ancillary health care and related careers like radiologic technology, respiratory technicians, dialysis technicians, and chemical laboratory technicians," she says. "As the nursing shortage continues, such ancillary positions will likely become more necessary. Students interested in careers in science and health care may find equally satisfying careers through educational programs that are not so impacted," O'Donnell adds. Career in Health Care Administration
And let's not forget the behind-the-scenes administrative staff. Paperwork may not seem all too glamorous, but a career in health care administration can also mean big bucks, great responsibility, and plenty of opportunities. An admissions coordinator from a nursing home, for instance, reviews the admitting department operations in a nursing home environment. He or she will ensure compliance with certain standards that nursing home upholds. While this health care professional primarily oversees the in-patient/out-patient functions of a nursing home, he or she is also in charge of bed assignments and completion of preliminary paperwork for entering patients. It's still an intense career that pays out a median expected salary of $39,514, whereby you will have to work with the medical, nursing, and accounting staff to ensure appropriate patient placement. Since this position, as well as other in health care administration, requires a bachelor's degree, it's important to earn a health care degree from a reputable health care school so you can become familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. An Introduction To DUI

By Eddie Tobey Driving under the influence (DUI), commonly known as drunk driving, means operating a motor vehicle in a public area while intoxicated. It is considered a criminal offence to drive a vehicle after consuming alcoholic beverages. DUIs are also considered an offense when boating and piloting aircraft. Driving under the influence of alcohol is a misdemeanor, and depending upon the nature of jurisdiction, it is sometimes referred to as driving while intoxicated (DWI), operating while intoxicated (OWI) or operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (OMVI). DUI is perhaps one of the main reasons for motor vehicle crashes. The excess use of alcohol impairs the nervous system, thereby adversely affecting the balance of mind and body. While driving under the influence is regarded as a serious offense in almost all states, the punishment generally depends upon the DUI statute in the state. If you are charged with driving under the influence, blood and urine levels are first tested. Also, a breath test is administered. If it is proved that your blood alcohol content is above the legal limit set by the states statute, you will be arrested. In some states, if any one is proved to have a breath test of .08 or higher, they are said to be under the influence of alcohol. In all cases, if you are driving under the influence of alcohol, there is a good chance that you will lose your license, serve time in prison and serve a lengthy probation period. The charge could also affect future employment. DUI laws are quite complex, and offenders generally seek assistance of a competent and experienced lawyer to help them out. Offenders are generally charged large fines based on the court proceedings and test results. Usually, first-time offenders are charged a fine, and there are certain provisions to get keep punishments at a mimimum. DUI provides detailed information on DUI, DUI Lawyers, DUI Laws, DUI Defense and more. DUI is affiliated with California DUI Laws. Five Reasons NOT To Lose Weight

By Virginia Bola, PsyD We are inundated by exhortations to lose weight - from the media, from our friends, from our family. As the richest, fattest, nation on earth, we idealize the impossibly thin supermodels who smile (or smirk?) at us from every magazine cover. We spend a fortune on trying to lose weight and despair when we don't. Enough of the diet gurus, the nutritionists, and the weight loss experts (including me), let's enjoy ourselves for a while. The diabetes and clogged arteries will overtake us all too quickly. For today, let's feast freely at the banquet of life. 1.Ordering in a restaurant is incredible fun. Your dining companions may be limiting their selections, counting carbs and fats and calories but you are free of all that. You can pick the creamiest, juiciest item on the menu without a single twinge of guilt. Go ahead, have the baked potato with extra butter and sour cream. Chew the divine crispy bread with your creamed soup or artichoke dip appetizer. Go exotic with beef Wellington in its flaky crust shell or dive into that impeccably marbled steak. And while your companions sip coffee, order peach pie - a la mode, no less. Now, weren't you the one who made the most of the evening? 2.Enjoy the company picnic. Let your coworkers make fools of themselves running three-legged races and playing very bad touch football. They will have sore muscles and bruises for a week. While they are moaning and groaning on Monday morning, you'll be comfortable and serene, enjoying your memories of being the first, and the last, in line at the buffet table and how much fun it was to graze uninterrupted on those marvelous desserts. 3.Appreciate your daughter's school play. All those skinny, active mothers have been working for weeks to get everything prepared. The benefits of obesity became crystal clear when you were not even asked to paint scenery, hang curtains, set up chairs, or walk the neighborhood to solicit contributions. You can limit your involvement to showing up for the performance, fresh and unstressed, gratefully eying the tasty snacks set out for afterwards. 4.Make the amusement park comfortable. The wheelchairs provided for the disabled and the obese are a heavenly way to see the entire park. Every other adult becomes exhausted as the day wears on, tired of waiting in lines and walking miles to get to the rides the kids want. You are cool and comfortable as they wheel you around. As the others get grumpier, the kids flock to you and lament that their parents don't maintain your interest and encouragement of everything they want to do. And on the long drive home, when others are too tired to eat, you still have energy left for a burger and fries. 5.Make your vacation complete. No one even considered suggesting a camping trip or a week at the beach, did they? No, they knew your idea of a treat was a short road trip with stays at deluxe hotels with soft beds, room service, and a concierge at your beck and call. Let the others take a walk around town while you lie down with a good book or television show. When they return and, over dinner, tell you of the sights they've seen, you can listen intently while mentally rating the local cuisine based on your vast gastronomic expertise. Ah, life's good! P. S. If you take this seriously, get yourself to a therapist, tout suite. Virginia Bola is a licensed psychologist and an admitted diet fanatic. She specializes in therapeutic reframing and the effects of attitudes and motivation on individual goals. The author of The Wolf at the Door: An Unemployment Survival Manual, and a free ezine, The Worker's Edge, she recently published a psychologically-based weight control e-workbook, "Diet with an Attitude" which develops mental skills towards the goal of permanent weight control. The Advantages In Choosing A Bride You Will Love Forever

By Oksana Boichenko A Yahoo search for a "bridal agency Ukraine" yields over 82,000 results. For a country, which has been locked away to the rest of the world for years and has gained independence a little over ten years ago, such results seem overwhelming. Why has this business flourished in the FSU countries within the last few years? Are women of these countries on a prowl for a rich husband? Are they raking around for an unforgettable short-term romance? Or are they seeking something more profound like true love and someone to make them happy? Lucky for me, when questions began swarming in my head, a good girlfriend of mine, who has lived in Italy for a number of years, was in town to visit her family. So, instead of digging through piles of statistics and wracking my brain in search of the answers, I turned to the source with first-hand experience. Before I move on, let me make myself clear: by no means does this article include motives and wants of every woman, who submits her profile to a bridal agency. And I will be the first to encourage foreigners: do exercise caution once you choose the path of a bridal agency search. In the past, some ladies from the FSU countries have provided more than enough negative publicity, but don't let that discourage you and miss out on a chance to gift someone the pleasure of communication and a possibility to find love. With that in mind, I proceed When I began questioning the motives of women who take a chance on bridal agencies, my first discovery was quite disturbing. One of the top reasons why FSU women prefer foreigners is that men at their home country aren't good enough. "Many people talk about how awful it is (for FSU women) to live abroad and tell you horror stories. Why not admit that the reason is in men at home, who, in my opinion, don't know what a family is?" was a comment from Natasha, who used to be Russian Bride in response to the article in one of the leading Russian papers, which condemned marriages to foreigners. "Unfortunately, 'Russian' men have got a long way to go to keep up with men from abroad." Some bridal agencies will give you the same information. An American journalist, who took a "find-the-bride" trip to Ukraine as a part of his investigation for a story, says in his on-line journal that the instructor on the tour explained to him: Ukrainian and Russian men "drink, philander, alternately beat and neglect women." Obviously, not every FSU man treats women this way. Nevertheless, a general conception that most Russian/Ukrainian women share of men in their home countries comes down to a few common words: irresponsible, hard-hearted, too demanding and not willing to provide for their children, let alone their mother. Given that FSU women are admired throughout history for their strong family ties and devotion, it is not surprising that many of them come to bridal agencies expecting to find someone trustworthy, reliable and willing to create and nourish the family. Another observation Natasha made after a three-year long marriage to a foreigner: "Actually, when I married him, I didn't want to live in Italy But Italians are very family oriented and put more emphasis on family values. That meant a lot to me. Foreigners in general seem to be more serious about family and children, unlike men at home." In line with lack of quality of FSU men, there is also lack of quantity. Statistics show that during 2002 the ratio men-women was 46 % to 54%, and hasn't changed much since. Given that a large part of these 46% are people who can't be counted on for love, care and support, it leaves the ladies of Russia and Ukraine very little to choose from. Obviously, when something you need is not in sight, you look to broader horizons. "All the good ones have been snatched away long ago, your chances to find someone in this country after you turn 25 are next to nill," Natasha mused over a cup а coffee (she married her Italian sweetheart at the age of 29). "It seems the guys (in Ukraine) disappear when they turn 30." On top of all said, the appreciation of their own feminity sets FSU women apart from American or European ladies. Most foreigners note that FSU women look different from the latter two, and I don't just mean their outward beauty, which has been mentioned and admired by many. These ladies like to look pretty, it is not unusual for them to wear a dress and pumps on a regular basis, they care about their body and like to be attractive. Bottom line, they want to be feminine, not feminist. FSU women cherish being a "weak gender", which for them means taking care of their family in the first place, as well as being cared for and appreciated. Promises of that seem to be given in abundance by Americans and Europeans, many of whom share an opinion that it has been too long since Western women have shown any aspiration to cherish the softer side of the "weaker gender". In comparison with a constant rush of women at home to make careers and get equal with men, the feminine side of the FSU ladies is at definite advantage to men from abroad. Even some FSU men will admit that "their" women are attractive to the foreigners exactly because they "remain women, not some emancipated feminists, like in the West." Natasha gets a bit nostalgic remembering her first few times to visit Italy: "I went to Italy to feel like a queen, to get my share of attention, which I had been lacking from our men. I think there is so much beauty (in Russia), that our men are simply used to it, it is mundane to them, they forget about simple compliments Italians value beauty." After all this, what can I say to men in search of their destiny? It all comes down to what you are looking for. No doubt, there will be some money-hungry vamps, eager to trap you. If you want an exotic one night stand, you can find that in Ukraine, Russia or anywhere in the world for that matter. But if you are looking for a woman who will respect you, relish her family and be as smart as she is pretty, the chances of you finding that in Ukraine or Russia are greater than at any other place. Russian Bride is the best.

Night Fishing The Jitterbug

By Charles White If you like to night fish then you will love fishing the jitterbug at night. I have caught some monster bass night fishing and its fun to say the least. We all know that a jitterbug is one of the all time favorites for topwater bass fishing. Its been an old stand by for years.
Theres good reason for that.it works! It has caught big, big bass and always will. You can of course, fish the jitterbug like most people do and just retrieve it and it will wobble like crazy and attract fish. I like to fish it a little different sometimes. I throw the lure out and let it set. The I take my rod tip and twitch it, the jitterbugs metal on the front will gather water and make a bubble and push lots of water this way. Then I let it sit and twitch my rod tip again to gather the water and my retrieve is like this all the way in to the boat or shore. I have had good luck with both retrieves the regular throw and old retrieve and the slower twitch rod retrieve. I have caught bigger bass with twitching my rod and gathering the water in the front way more times than with the regular retrieve at night. It not only scoops the water and makes a bubble but it gives the bass time to hone in on the lure. Charles E. White has fished 50 years for bass from California to Florida. In his lifetime, it is estimated that he has caught over 6,000 bass. His biggest bass is a 12 pound 14 ounce that hangs on his wall in his office. His tips and techniques have helped many people who have never fished for bass before become successful anglers.
He also has fished with the Pros in Florida.

Making Friends, Meeting People and Getting Dates on the Internet

By Alan Prince It appears that online dating has come to stay with us. But for many people, especially the very busy people, they have used only dating or matchmaking sites hitherto.
And not a few of these people have been scammed of their money via these sites.
Rather than use dating or matchmaking sites alone, here is a list of some other places where you can possibly make friends, and maybe get dates.
The major advantage in these places is that you can discuss matters of mutual interest, which tends to draw you closer. 1.Yahoo Groups: Yahoo as well as other major mail portals has groups where you can interact with people from all across the world.
They have groups on almost every topic under the sun. You can join a group in the areas of your interest, start to make posts and get to meet new people and make friends. 2.Friendship networks: myspace, hi5 and so on provide fora for you to meet with other people. These sites are specially made for social networking, and you can take advantage of this opportunity. 3.Volunteer Groups/Communities: There are some places where you can offer support and help to other people who are in need as at that moment.
What you should have at the back of your mind is that many times, what you know or have experienced before could be of immense help to many other people.
You could look for such a group of people online and join that community.
It could be a divorce group, or a health and fitness community among others.
You should consider joining that community of people and help others out of your knowledge and experiences.
In turn, you get to meet new people with whom you can interact. In all these groups, it is advisable that you go there with the aim of giving out before getting. Many people go into such groups or places with the sole aim of getting what they want.
Hardly do they care about what other people want or their needs .
Be sensitive to the needs of others in such communities and you will soon have many friends. Many people complain about not having friends. There is no reason at all for anyone to be without friends.
All you need to do is to be a good friend, a person that people want to be with. Once you are ready to help others and to be a part of their life in some way, you will soon have more friends than you can cope with.
And it will just be a matter of time before you start getting dates. Alan Prince is a writer and researcher on romance scams and other internet scams. Top 5 Display Design Tips

By Ron Adler Now that you've figured out your budget, your booth location, your target audience and what products you're interested in, it's time to start designing your booth! Here are our Top 5 Display Design Tips to get you started. And as always, the pro's at Adler Display are here to help with all of your display needs. 1. Communicate. You've done a lot of up-front research to determine your target audience, your marketing message, and the products that you'd like to use. Now you need to communicate these with the designer! Event items that you might think insignificant can be helpful to your designer. Your designer should also be in close contact with your display vendor to be sure that what they design meets the appropriate graphic standards for the display products you are using. 2. Simplify. A common mistake among exhibitors is trying to cram too much information onto a display booth. Too many graphics, too many messages, or just too much "stuff" in general can be overwhelming and confusing to booth visitors. Booth visitors should be able to understand your products and services within the first few seconds of visiting your booth. Keeping visuals, messages and literature to a minimum will help visitors understand what you do quickly, which will help ensure that they remember you back at the office. 3. Use High Quality Graphic Elements. Nothing can be more disheartening to a trade show exhibitor than spending loads of time and money on a display, only to show up at the event and see a competitor using the same imaging in their booth! When choosing graphic elements, try to find unique photography, or have your designer develop elements that are one-of-a-kind for your booth. Make sure that the photos and graphics used are high resolution, clear and colorful so that when blown up to booth size, they hold up. 4. Use Signage to Attract, Direct. Not only can good signage capture the attention of passers by, but it can be used to help direct booth visitors to particular areas of interest as well. Banner stands and tabletop signage can mark areas of interest and can visually support your overall theme or message. 5. Stand Out from the Crowd. The show floor can often times seem like a sea of companies who all do the same thing. So how do you get people into your booth vs. Joe's booth across the isle? Your display design should be well laid out, have a clear message, and should attract show goers attention from a distance. The use of overhead signage, backlit graphics, or tall display elements such as trusses can all help you attract the attention of those walking the isles. Movement is another way to attract attention. Hands-on demonstrations, multimedia presentations, and moving signage are great ways to attract attention from far away. Your display vendor will be able to show you what options are available. Ron Adler has been working in the exhibit industry with Adler Display (http://www.adlerdisplay.com) for over 30 years. Ron has designed and created some of the most unique and creative displays in the mid-Atlantic region including several Visitor Centers in Maryland as well as dozens of exhibits for museums and hospitals throughout the United States. Five Tips On Writing Essays in College

By Chris Stout Writing is an essential skill for any college student. Even if youre a biologist or a mathematician, you still need to write lab reports and proofs. Every college student has to take at least one writing-intensive course. College level essay writing doesnt have to be overwhelming. Here are five tips thatll help you write better essays: 1. If you havent read the book, take good notes in class, and discuss the points covered in your notes. In an ideal world, every student would read every book and turn in every assignment. In reality, thats not what happens. Things come up. Certain classes begin to take precedence over other courses. You may find yourself having to juggle different assignments in such a way, that one slips through the cracks. Dont panic. If simply dont have anytime to finish reading that thousand page Dostoyevsky novel, you can still turn in a quality essay. If you have to sacrifice reading the book, then you better go to class and take out-of-this-world notes. Wrap your mind around the important historical, philosophical and thematic issues, and discuss these topics in your essay. Mine the book for two or three quality citations, and youll be fine. This method should only be used as a last resort, because when you turn in essays in this fashion, you might make the grades, but youll lose out on your education. 2. If you have read the book, extract an original take from it. Dont just regurgitate what you read, analyze it and develop a unique way of discussing the issues covered in the book. In a college essay (or any essay for that matter) you are free to argue whatever point you want, as long as you can back it up with supporting evidence. Dont write something that you think your teacher wants to hear, and dont spit your professors opinions back at them. Develop your own distinctive opinion, and argue it thoroughly. 3. Try to combine multiple ideas from the course. Tie in what youve learned. Think outside of the topic and weave together different threads from the fabric of the class. Reference your lecture notes, and previous reading materials. Make connections in the curriculum. Professors love that kind of stuff. 4. Include historical perspectives. Whatever you are writing, you can always find little tidbits of interesting historical facts to throw in. Type your essay topic in an Internet search engine and follow the term with the word facts. You will be presented with pages of fact sheets that you can mine for valuable trivia. Whenever you want to add thickness to your argument, couch your claims in a relevant historical context. 5. Dont ever plagiarize. Plagiarizing is lazy, useless and dangerous. You want to strive for originality in whatever endeavor you undertake. You should never want the opinions of others to be confused with your own unique takes. Furthermore, plagiarizing can get you in serious trouble. If you havent done the work, take evasive action and buy more time. Its better to turn in an excellent tardy paper than a worthless on-time essay. College essay writing isnt a mystery. You need to read your materials, take good notes during your lectures and pick an essay topic. Then you organize your ideas, craft a cleverly worded thesis statement, and set about proving your assertion with supporting evidence. Thats it. Just be original, think outside the topic and always remember to answer the question entirely. Review more industry related articles by Chris Stout at CareersandEducation.com. Four Simple Steps To Better Results With Your Resume

By Jeff Altman Is every job description you read the same? No. Is every job you submit your resume to the same? Of course they arent. If all these job descriptions are different, why do you submit the same resume? Every day, people send the same generic resume out as though each position was identical and each employer was attempting to hire identical skills and attributes. Too often, the results they receive are like the broken watch that is right twice a dayhit or miss success. They list their name, address, phone numbers and email address, list an objective, education, and chronology of experience with dates of employment. The resume includes some successes or accomplishments. This is their resume. In the days prior to computers when changing a resume required you to re-type different versions, this made sense. Today, when computers allow you to customize, spell and grammar check documents so easily, you are missing out on opportunities and costing yourself money by being lazy and not tailoring your resume for each opportunity you are interested in. Here are several steps that you can do to improve your resume and get better results. 1. Each employer will be interested in different attributes of your experience. They often indicate it by the items they describe in their job ad. Emphasize the experiences that you have that relate to the skills being sought and the functions you will perform in the job they will ask you to perform. If you are applying for a staff position, emphasize your staff experience and minimize your management experience. If you are being hired to be a leader, write about your recent leadership. 2. Employers are more interested in recent work, rather than work you did many years ago. Use more space in your resume to highlight recent experience, rather than things you did before George W. Bush became President. 3. Like setting a goal where you make them specific, measurable, achievable within a specific period of time, describe your successes or achievements concretely. Reducing costs is a nice start but it is more powerful to describe something as reducing operational costs globally by 2%. Increased departmental sales by 27% resulting in . . . You get the idea. Use action verbs wherever possible (For more on this, read my article, Preparing an Effective Resume on www.newyorkmetrotechnologyjobs.com). 4. Ask someone you trust to critique what youve written. Too often, people believe that they can do everything by themselves without asking for help. Ask a friend in your industry to critique what youve written to insure youre on target and arent missing the mark. When you go to a restaurant and order a meal, you have the expectation that it will be prepared in a way that will please you and be presented on the plate beautifully. Writing a great resume requires that you be the chef and prepare a meal that is both visually appealing and tastes great too! Jeff Altman 2005 all rights reserved. Interview Questions: Are You Considering Any Other Jobs?

By Carl Mueller In other words, are you interviewing with any companies other than ours? This is a common question that interviewers ask when you are interviewing with them for a job with their firm. In other words, do you have any other jobs on the go that could result in someone else hiring you? Part of you might think that saying yes to this question will make it look like you are not 100% interested in the position with this company and that the potential employer will look at this negatively. Another part of you might think that saying no to this question will make it look like you have no other options available and are having trouble finding a job, thus reducing the companys interest in you. At the end of the day, the best way to answer this question is as follows: 1. Be honest. If you have other jobs you are interviewing for, say so. If not, say so. Tell the truth. 2. Be brief. Dont tell the employer which specific companies you are interviewing with. Its not their business nor is it pertinent. Typically a hiring manager just wants to know if you are going to be getting an offer soon from another company and if so how quickly. If you are interviewing for other jobs and are early on in the interview process, simply tell them that yes, you have other jobs you are interviewing for and leave it at that. Personally, I think the best situation to be in is to have several interviews on the go and several possible jobs to choose from and to let a potential employer know this if they ask. Again, no specifics such as the names of other companies you are interviewing with should be divulged. Its sort of like having several people all interested in you at one time. Who doesnt like that? At a minimum, it might help to get the companies you are interviewing with to move a bit faster than they normally would if they are really interested in hiring you if they think they might lose you to another company if theyre too slow. At the end of the day, most companies dont just interview one person for a job so its unreasonable to think that you are going to interview with just one company at a time hoping theyll hire you, if you have other opportunities you could pursue. If you expect honest feedback and input from potential employers, its only fair that you provide them with the same. Just like you want to know how you compare to other people they are interviewing for the same job, they will want to know if you are interviewing elsewhere so that they are aware that competition for your services exists. Home Buying Seminars - Powerful Marketing for Real Estate Agents

By Brandon Cornett Why conduct a home buying seminar (the benefits)
Seminars are a perfect complement to your personal marketing program. They're educational, popular and much more personal than any marketing piece. They can also position you as an authority, which can easily lead to future clients. And who knows, you might even have some fun and meet some nice people along the way! Where to conduct a home buying seminar (the venue)
One of the first steps in conducting your seminar is to identify a location. When scouting out the location, be sure to ask yourself the following questions: 1. What will the venue cost?
Sometimes you can find an excellent location at no cost. If you happen to know the principal of your local high school, for example, you may be able to use the school's auditorium for an evening seminar. Otherwise you'll have to rent some space. But the potential gains far outweigh the small price you'll pay! 2. Can the venue support your presentation?
When you've identified a possible venue for your presentation, visit the site to see what it offers. Does it have adequate parking? Does it have a PowerPoint projector (if you need one)? How many people can it hold? Is it conveniently located? (Giving directions will be much easier if it is.) 3. Can the venue support repeat performances?
I recommend making your home buying seminar a regular event. Word spreads over time, and your audience will likely grow as well. Of course, you might have a standing room only situation on your first performance. It happens. Following a regular schedule can also help with PR. Imagine the favorable exposure you would get if your local news did a spot on you for their real estate or home-buying segment! Conduct regular sessions and send press releases to the media, and that's exactly what could happen. Some places you might look into as a possible venue:
The meeting room at your local library
Local YMCA or community center
High school or college auditorium
The meeting room of a nearby restaurant or hotel
How to conduct a home buying seminar (logistics and delivery) The Sequence
It's usually best to follow a logical timeline of the home-buying process. This makes the presentation easier to follow. Also, if you have co-presenters (a mortgage professional, for instance, or maybe a home inspector), be sure to group all of their slides together. That way, each presenter can take his or her turn and be done. The overall presentation will be more organized that way. The Delivery
Deliver your presentation consistently, using your slides as cue cards. Don't let questions throw you off track. Answer questions briefly and politely, and then remind everyone about the Q&A period that will follow the presentation. I recommend having a opening and closing script that you follow pretty closely, and then improvising through the middle. The reasons for this are two-fold: First, the opening and closing are important parts of your presentation. Memorizing a short script will help you remember everything you want to say. Secondly, improvising the middle part will make your delivery more natural and keep you from having to memorize large amounts of information. Remember, your slides will serve as cue cards to help you stay on track for the bulk of the presentation. Promoting Your Seminar
How do you get the word out about your seminar? In short any way you can. Do you have a farming area that you send marketing mailers to? Well that's a great place to start. Some other promotional ideas:
Promote the seminar on your website.
Add a blurb about it after your email signature block.
Mention it to clients (they're likely to have friends or colleagues in the market to buy).
If you have co-presenters, share the marketing. Multiple channels are better than one!
Mention it to former clients still in the area (an excellent word-of-mouth channel).
Announce it to the media in the form of a press release.
Conduct direct mail campaigns to apartment complexes* in your area.
*Apartment complexes are a great place to market your seminar for two reasons: First, you can select apartment complexes by their average monthly rent, meaning you can loosely qualify the recipients based on income. Secondly, most people living in apartments would love nothing more than owning a house; but many of them falsely assume that home ownership is beyond their reach. Show them otherwise! Final Tips
Paper clip a business card to each of the audience handouts. Place a handout (and business card) in every seat before people arrive. Limit the attendance. This will help you strengthen your call to action when promoting the seminar: Seating is limited, so sign up today! It will also help you keep the Q&A session to a reasonable length, and will prevent scenarios where 40 people are vying for 20 seats. Have an RSVP plan in place; accommodate as many people as you can, but don't overdo it. You can always put people on the list for your next seminar! Arrive early. Having to rush is no way to start your seminar it will set the pace for the rest of the presentation. Set up early and have everything in place ten minutes before the advertised start time. Also, if people show up early, it will give you a little chit-chat time with them (and clients can come from that). That's all there is to it. Now get out there and wow them! About the Author

Should You Consider an Internet Romance?

By Mike Ting Carly's quest in finding a suitable partner for marriage seemed impossible. She found the singles scene at clubs to be uncomfortable and her social circle seemed to consist of more married friends with a shrinking amount of singles. Although she had heard of internet dating and saw the ads, she had hesitated to take what she imagined was a rather drastic step. What would her experiences be like? How would she find someone online? What were the risks? If you are in this situation then quite likely you've considered venturing into online dating to meet someone. Our lives are increasingly dependant on technology as opposed to face-to-face contact. It is not at all surprising that millions have already ventured into online dating as a way to find a relationship rather than waiting for a chance meeting. But what are some of the findings as researchers spend more time analyzing the behavior of online daters? In a study reported on CBS News, 15% of Americans with internet access have visited an internet dating site. 27% of them were 18-29 years old. Obviously online dating is a popular pastime. The same study showed that 33% of unmarried internet users thought that dating online was a safe way to meet people although 34% acknowledged knowing someone who had a bad experience. In another study reported by BBC News, online dating was seen as a way for women to feel empowered in relationships. The conventional inhibitions that they had in face-to-face relationships were replaced by a more upfront and in-control attitude when given the anonymity of the internet. Could this improve their chances at finding a perfect relationship? Professor Helen Petrie was quoted in the BBC interview as stating "There are people who lack interpersonal social skills and would find it very difficult to meet people in bars. They may find it easy to meet in an internet room, but they still have the problem of meeting them face to face and if they have gone too far with the internet relationship, they may find that traumatic." The truth is, many individuals find the anonymity of online dating encourages a certain amount of exaggeration or lying. While some claim that we always hide things at the beginning of a relationship, trying to put our best foot forward, the internet makes it easier to hide such things as facial expressions, income, marital status and even criminal records. So while you may find, like Carly, that finding a relationship in the 'real' world is difficult - if you are still considering online dating it is wise to use caution and common sense. Be careful what you say about yourself and try to verify as much information as possible before meeting or personally contacting anyone you've met online and never meet them alone. Great Part-time Business Ideas For Students

By Anwar Ahmed Ally Hey students, here's some great part-time small business ideas to make you some extra cash. You don't have to be penniless anymore or bother Mom and Dad every time you need some money. It is a fact of life that students are notorious for being cash-strapped most times. But it needn't have to be that way. With some clever thinking, some hard work and perseverance, a part-time business can be a solution. Here are a few opportunities that I'd recommend to the student. These businesses can be started with little or no capital and requires little or no training. They are virtually certain to produce extra income and can be sold once the student graduates and starts a full-time job. Typing Service Provide a typing service to other students. Offer to type their assignments, resumes, thesis, etc. Auto Detailing If you have a flair for graphics and design and you love cars, then you might consider offering a detailing service to vehicle owners. Apart from putting on stunning graphics, you could also detail company vehicles and trucks by putting on logos, signs or advertisements. Auto Protection/Car Sound Installation If you are good with electronics and sound, you may consider this very lucrative opportunity. You can source alarm units or sound equipment direct from the manufacturer or wholesaler and put a small mark-up on it if you like but your best income would be from the actual installation charge. Tutor If you are really good in a certain subject, you can tutor school kids in your area. You could either do this at their home or yours. You will charge a rate per hour. Baby Sitter/House Sitter/Senior Citizens Care Baby sitting is an old part-time opportunity though it is still very popular and very much in demand with parents who need to take some time out. This one is suitable for females. A house sitter is someone who will live in and look after a house while the owners are away. This one would be suitable for the guys as girls may be afraid of living alone in a house. Senior Citizens Care This one involves doing some household chores, picking up groceries, taking the elderly for medical check-ups, etc. You need to be a caring, patient person with lots of compassion for this opportunity. Garden Service This can be a great and lucrative opportunity if two or more students partner up. You'd probably need a pick-up for this one and some basic garden equipment. Maybe you could borrow Dad's for a while with his permission, of course. Pool Service Similar to the above, except you will concentrate on swimming pool maintenance. Handyman Service Here you will do odd jobs for householders who are too lazy to do it themselves. Things like fixing the doorbell, leaky taps, changing a door, painting, etc. Disc Jockey If you have a passion for music, have a great album collection of music and possess mixing skills, then you might consider providing a mobile disco service for parties, birthdays, school functions, etc. Newspaper Recycling Collect old newspapers from around your neighborhood and sell them to a newspaper recycling plant. You can expand this business by doing old aluminum soda/beer cans as well. Flyer Distribution You could undertake a flyer distribution service for businesses in your area. You could employ part-time kids to help you with the actual distribution. Garage Sale Organizer You can organize and run garage sales on behalf of homeowners who are too busy or lazy to do it themselves. The sale will be conducted on site and you take a percentage of all sales successfully concluded. You also charge a set-up fee. Photography Service If you are good with a camera, then this opportunity might be for you. Take pictures of people and kids in places like malls, holiday resorts, little league games, etc. Flea Market If you have something to sell that is truly unique like a creation of your own, then you might be extremely successfully if you set up a stall at a flea market in your area. Delivery Service Many businesses, especially pharmacies and fast food outlets contract out their deliveries. Visit a few and offer your services to them. Study Guides/Text Book Rental If you have old study guides or text books that you are finished with, you can rent them out to students who can't afford to buy them. Sign Writing Service If you are great with graphics, then you could offer to make signs of all types for businesses. This includes work on glass storefronts. These are just some lucrative ideas that I think you might want to consider. Look through the list, decide what appeals to you, plan and get started. Good Luck. How You Can Use The Internet In Your Job Search

By Laura Adams If you havent already starting using the internet to assist you in the job search, then you are missing out on a huge employment trend. There are numerous reasons to take advantage of this powerful tool, the most important one being that employers are using the internet more than ever to find candidates. If recent internet usage studies are accurate, nearly 48% of businesses do at least some of their recruiting online. Not utilizing the internet in your job search means that you are flying under the radar for many potential job opportunities. The internet is useful for a number of job search-related activities including: -- Searching for Jobs Online -- Posting your Resume Online -- Networking -- Company Research Searching for Jobs Online Million of job openings are posted online each year, many times more openings that you could possibly access on your own outside of the internet. There are a number of general employment sites that allow postings in all professions, industries, and experience levels. These sites are very large in both size and scope, but are popular with employers and job seekers alike. If you are able to narrow your job search to a specific profession or industry, niche sites will be incredibly valuable. Niche sites are those websites that specialize in a particular industry or profession, as opposed to allowing for the postings of any position imaginable. The advantages of using a niche site are (1) that you will not need to sort through nearly as many job openings to find those that fit your qualifications, and (2) that traffic is much less at niche sites. As a result, the competition for these positions is not nearly as fierce. In addition to standard online job boards, many government agencies (from the local to federal level) now list all available positions online. Companies with corporate websites also frequently post any job openings on the companys job announcement board. You can use any major internet search engine such as Google or Yahoo to find a specific government or company website. A final note on online job searches: a large majority of newspapers with widespread circulation publish classified ads, including job openings, on the internet now. These ads can be accessed for free in most cases, and will give you direct access to any local position openings. Posting your Resume Online Resume banks are large online databases that allow you to post your resume to be accessed by recruiters and potential employers. The advantage to keeping a copy (or copies) of your resume online in a visible location is that allows employers actively seeking candidates to consider your credentials without you having to submit your resume directly to the company. Individuals worried about confidentiality can opt to leave personal identifying information off of the resume and simply provide an anonymous email address at which interested employers can reach them. Many job boards also have resume banks, so take the time to browse around your favorite job sites to determine your options for posting your resume. Resumes can frequently be uploaded directly to the site or cut and pasted for quick posting. In the event that the site does not support this technology (or if you only have a hard copy of your resume), you will need to manually enter your resume into the site by filling out a form or typing into a pre-designated text box. Technically-savvy job seekers may also choose to post their resume on their own hosted website, on a free personal site provided by your Internet Service Provider. Networking Networking is one of the most successful ways to find a new job, since personal relationships often lead to opportunities that you might have otherwise never knew existed. The internet offers innumerable opportunities to network with other professionals in your field. Online forums, newsgroups, and professional journals/blogs allow you to connect with professionals who may be able to point you (and your job search) in the right direction. You may even be able to find a mentor to help guide you in your career development. Company Research The internet is a powerful tool for conducting research on a specific company in which you are interested. Using a major search engine to scour the web for information on a company will turn up a companys corporate webpage (if they have one) as well as a variety of other web sources disclosing information that may be highly pertinent to your job search. Use the internet, for example, to research the companys products and services, industry, competitors, financial information, history, and reputation.
